Opis
The MagBeads FastDNA™ Kit for Soil allows quick and efficient isolation of high-quality genomic DNA from soil in less than 60 mins. Samples are placed into Lysing Matrix E tubes and used with FastPrep® Instruments from MP Biomedicals to effectively lyse host cells as well as bacteria, fungi, viruses, protists and other cells present in soil samples within 40 seconds. The kit is also compatible with most of the automated nucleic acid extraction instruments on the market or it can be operated manually. It consists of specially formulated reagents to eliminate humic acid, polysaccharides, phenolic compounds, and enzyme inhibitors from soil and thus allows for extraction of highly pure genomic DNA ready for PCR, restriction digestion, electrophoresis and other desired applications.

Consistently delivering high concentrations of pure DNA
Magbeads FastDNA™ Kit for Soil employs an optimized procedure to consistently deliver high yields of pure genomic DNA (gDNA). The yields and purity obtained were higher when compared to other existing kits. Effective lysis in combination with efficient removal of contaminants and PCR inhibitors resulted in highly pure DNA. The integrity of DNA is determined by presence of visible smearing of band during gel electrophoresis. The purity of the extracted DNA was determined with spectrophotometric analysis by measuring and calculating the ratio of the absorbance at 260 nm and 280 nm A260/A280
Note: Magbeads FastDNA™ Kit for Soil achieved better yield across various types of soil samples as compared to competitors’ DNA kits.

Note: The genomic DNA extracted with Magbeads FastDNA™ Kit for Soil (in blue bar) was the only DNA kit among the competitors’ DNA kits to achieve A260/A280 ratio within 1.7- 2.0 across different types of soil samples.
The level of contaminants in the DNA extracted was determined similarly with spectrophotometric analysis by measuring and calculating the ratio of absorbance at 260 nm and 230 nm ( A260/A230). Strong absorbance around 230nm can indicate that organic compounds are present in the purified DNA. A A260/A230 ratio of 1.0 or above 1.0 is generally considered as good level of purity.

Note: The genomic DNA extracted with Magbeads FastDNA™ Kit for Soil (in blue bar) was generally free from the contaminants as assessed by its A260/A230 which were above 1.0 across different types of soil samples.
Application Notes
Extraction of highly pure genomic DNA from different types of soil, including organic soil, paddy soil, flowerbed soil, saline soil, desert soil that is ready for downstream analyses such as PCR, restriction digestion, electrophoresis and other desired applications.
