Removal of contaminating genomic DNA from RNA
The presence of genomic DNA in RNA preparations is often a significant problem for downstream applications. This contamination often leads to false-positive signals and misrepresentation of gene expression levels.
gDNA Removal Kit from GeneON removes gDNA from RNA prior to reverse transcription.
The Removal Kit is based on the recombinant heat labile dsDNase, which is irreversibly inactivated at moderate temperatures.
After that inactivation step which is gentle enough to preserve both quality and quantity of all present RNA.
Incubation time:
- 10 min @ 37°C or 20 min at 25°C
- 5 min @ 58°C for inactivation of the enzyme
Reverse Transcription can be performed in the same tube, thereby minimizing pipetting steps and reducing hands-on time.
Storage: store at -20°C, avoid frequent freeze / thaw cycles
