YPD (YEPD) is a nutritionally rich medium for the growth of S. cerevisiae, containing dextrose, peptone and yeast extract. Dextrose is the energy source. Yeast extract and peptone provide carbon, nitrogen, minerals, vitamins, trace ingredients and other essential growth nutrients which stimulate the growth of yeasts. Bulk powder.

YPD Broth is used for routine growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae for molecular biology studies.

Contents Per Liter: 20 g Peptone Y; 10 g Yeast Extract-Y; 20 g Dextrose. Small quantities of biological buffers have been added for proper pH adjustment.
