Opis

The plasmid pSW1 encodes tetracycline resistance and contains the BRP gene under control of the mitomycin C inducible pCloDF13 promoter. Induction with 10 - 25 ng of mitomycin C per ml of culture will give moderate expression of the BRP and more or less specific release of periplasmic and certain cytoplasmic proteins. Full induction (0.5 μg per ml) might result in quasi-lysis (this is dependent on the host strain). The presence of 10 - 20 mM Mg2+ inhibits this lysis.
